For many patients and caregivers, getting properly diagnosed with a Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) can be a struggle. As CDIs are increasingly found in the community among previously low-risk populations, many clinicians mistake these dangerous infections for norovirus or irritable bowel syndrome.
Led by Dr. Stephen Brecher, director of the Microbiology Laboratories of the Boston VA Healthcare System, this webinar will cover:
- Different types of diagnostic tests for C. diff
- How clinicians use tests to diagnose C. diff
- How patients and caregivers can engage smartly with clinicians to achieve a proper diagnosis
While all participants are welcome, this webinar is geared toward lay people without advanced clinical knowledge.
